Customer Service Assistant, Digital Marketing & Website

The opportunity

We are looking to recruit a confident and enthusiastic individual to join the Digital Marketing & Website team who manage Bloomsbury.com. Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing & Customer Service Executive, you will be the first point of contact for our website customers, and an integral part of the customer experience.  If you are passionate about offering the best service possible, this role is for you!

The role

  • Providing a high level of customer service, responding to queries by email and telephone
  • Liaising with colleagues and third-party distributors to assist customers with their queries
  • Identifying any issues reported by customers and alerting line-managers
  • Providing customer feedback to the internal team to help to enhance the customer experience

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Customer service/support experience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt your approach for each customer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Superb organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a logical, problem-solving approach

Additional information

The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £23,000 per annum based at our London offices in Bedford Square, London, working pattern will be 2 days office based / 3 days home based or fully office based if preferred.  However, as all Bloomsbury employees are currently working from home, this role will also be based from home until our offices reopen.

As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
