Online Sales Assistant - Print, UK Sales

An opportunity to join the Sales Team of a top 5 UK Publisher at a time of dynamic investment and growth.

We are looking to recruit an Online Sales Assistant with good organisational skills to work in our fast-paced online sales team. Reporting to the Senior Account Manager – Online Physical, this position will play a key role in the wider team in look after and growing all the UK online and digital accounts. A pivotal support to the Head of Online Sales and the UK online sales team as well as assisting on the day-to-day administration and operations of the team, compiling data for analysis (ABR and other sales reports) and be the first point of contact for general internal queries about our online accounts.

The ideal candidate will have initiative, a natural curiosity, enthusiasm, will be data driven, good at multi-tasking and with a love of spreadsheets and ready to join a highly motivated and dynamic team.

Based in our Bedford Square office this will be a hybrid-working position. 

The role

Account Administration:

  • Compile and prepare weekly sales report for Amazon
  • Manage internal and Amazon agendas and minutes
  • Prepare and send out NYP grids for print customers
  • Maintain our sales traces and compile data for reports to share internally
  • Manage compliance checks process
  • Assist with online accounts administration (including Infringement claims, author approvals, etc)
  • Processing Amazon retro claims
  • Create and circulate monthly promotion update emails to divisional specialists

Market Analysis:

  • Keep records of sales data and compile data for regular reports to share internally
  • Supply ad hoc sales figures requests

Team support and admin in tune with other Sales Assistants:

  • Bookscan reports and updates
  • Provide support for general sales admin and ad hoc business analysis including Annual Business Reviews

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and can prioritise tasks
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with systems such as Biblio, Nielsen, Cognos and Vista

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position

Salary Pay Point: £27,000

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).  Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday

As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
