Online Sales Executive, UK Sales

A rare opportunity to join the Sales Team of a top 5 UK Publisher at a time of dynamic investment and growth. We are looking to recruit an Online Senior Sales Executive with good organisational skills to work in our fast-paced online sales team. Reporting to the Head of Online Sales, Children’s and Adult, the role will include leading the day-to-day operations of the Amazon print account for the Special Interest division and selling across the Consumer and Special Interest lists to other online accounts. We are looking for someone who has initiative, a natural curiosity, is enthusiastic, data driven, good at multi-tasking and has a love of spreadsheets to join a highly motivated and dynamic team.

The role

Account Management:

  • Manage the Amazon account’s day to day operation for the Special Interest division
  • Work closely with Special Interest divisional team and Head of Online Sales to select and pitch books for retail promotions in line with organisational strategy
  • Manage and grow your own accounts

Divisional Internal Responsibility:

  • Be the Online Sales Team specialist on Special Interest products for the division
  • Liaise with M&P teams regarding online sales promotions
  • Report back to internal stakeholders of critical developments and updates
  • Work closely with M&P and operations teams to manage supply and maintain availability on site
  • Ad hoc internal projects relating to the SI division

Market Analysis

  • Perform deep dive analysis needed to ensure that we are dynamic on our frontlist and backlist.
  • Prepare and share regular and ad hoc critical market and business analysis to update and educate stakeholders
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the customer platforms and monitor trends to keep internal teams up to date.
  • Keep records of sales data and compile data for regular reports to share internally

Team support and admin in tune with other Online Sales Executive:

  • Ad hoc general team admin and cover

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and can prioritise tasks
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with systems such as Biblio, Nielsen, Cognos and Vista

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position and is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).  Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday
