We are looking for a highly motivated Press Officer to plan, implement and manage impactful, strategic and creative media campaigns that target key audiences and maximise book sales. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive Publicity team, reporting into the Head of Publicity, and work on an exciting and varied list of books that crosses serious non-fiction, literary fiction, poetry, cookery, commercial and crime fiction and more. You will be ambitious for our authors, have a keen eye for the media landscape and knowledge of the wider books and arts industry. Excellent interpersonal skills are a given, with an ability to deliver exceptional author care and to be an effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues in editorial, sales and marketing, agents, journalists and event organisers. The role
- Deliver creative and effective publicity title campaigns to maximize book sales and grow author brand awareness, within agreed timelines and to set budgets
- Deliver exceptional author care throughout the life of a campaign and beyond
- Support senior members of the team where necessary on campaigns and focus areas and work on central functions for the team
- Pitch to journalists, event organisers and external partners to great effect. Develop and maintain relationships, as well as knowledge of the ever-changing media landscape
- Collate and collaborate with other members of the PR team, to share and build media contacts, tips, ideas and advice
- Compose engaging copy for press releases and email pitches, with great attention to detail and creative flair, in keeping with the tone and style of the team and list
- Reading proposals and providing publicity feedback

The role is a full-time permanent position
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday
