The Bloomsbury Royalties Department is responsible for preparing royalty statements and making advance and royalty payments to Bloomsbury’s authors around the world.
Bloomsbury has recently acquired the assets of a US publishing house. The Royalties Assistant role is a temporary role created to assist with the capture of author details and migration of royalty contract data resulting from the acquisition into Bloomsbury’s royalty system. The role will report directly into the Royalties Special Projects Manager but will also involve interaction with stakeholders from other areas of the business.
This role will suit someone who is numerate, has good attention to detail and who can learn about royalties quickly and is keen to get some publishing experience
The role
- Preparation of author and other details for loading to accounting system
- Review of data to identify and update duplicate records
- Assist with the mapping and transformation of royalty data from host system
- Review of author contracts to extract supplemental royalties information
- Investigate and solve issues arising from testing of royalty data
- Additional data cleansing
- Ad-hoc tasks as and when required
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Attention to detail & must be numerate
- Intermediate level excel skills – ideally pivots, v-look-ups, etc.
- Good communication and organisational skills. Must be able to work independently
- Familiarity with royalty and/or accounting systems preferred

The role is a full-time 6-month fixed term position
Salary Pay Point: £28,000 per annum pro-rata
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Wednesday.
