Senior Publicity Manager (Maternity Cover), Adult Consumer Marketing & Publicity

We have an opportunity to join our expanding team at a time of exciting growth at Bloomsbury.

We are looking for an ambitious, creative and talented Senior Publicity Manager to lead innovative, impactful and strategic media and events campaigns. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive Publicity team, reporting into the Head of Publicity and work on a variety of leading titles from major commercial fiction and crime brands, high-profile literary fiction authors, exciting debuts, ground breaking non-fiction and more. You may also oversee, advise and collaborate on other publicist’s campaigns and be a role model for junior team members.

With a background in the publishing, arts or media industries, you will have experience working across a variety of campaigns. You will be able to expertly create multi-platform campaigns that break out debut talent, build bestselling names to new heights or shape the cultural agenda. You will be adept at forging and maintaining excellent relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders, leading on and communicating publicity plans and updates, and delivery excellent author and agent care.

The role

  • Deliver best-in-class and sales-driving campaigns for Bloomsbury’s high-profile authors, illustrators and brands, and launching the careers of others; work across all formats (hardback, eBook and audio)
  • Ensure campaigns are planned, co-ordinated and appropriately creative and ambitious, and communicate results effectively both to internal and external stakeholders, through leading in title planning meetings, presentations and creation of timely, comprehensive and eye-catching updates
  • Organise and manage author tours within budget to maximise book sales. Work creatively alongside event and festival organisers to bring authors to the consumer in new and dynamic ways
  • Lead, guide and enable the team in communications with external and internal stakeholders; offer expertise on handling sensitive and/or confidential projects
  • Build relationships with colleagues across the business including in editorial, sales and marketing and communicate effectively with the global publicity and marketing teams on relevant titles to create cohesive international campaigns
  • Keep D, E & I practises at the heart of what you do, communicating and implementing company policy with the team and strive for positive change within the industry

Additional information

The role is a full-time 12 month fixed term contract position.

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).  Allocated office days for this role are: Mondays & Tuesdays
