Book and Layout Designers (2) (Education)
An Educational publisher require 2 Book Designers with layout experience to work on site within their Production department. These roles are urgent for a period of 3-6 months depending on workload, starting ASAP.
Key duties:
- Follow briefs to produce high quality design work for cover and interiors
- Check design work, ensuring it is consistent and accurate and files are ready to print
- Ensure design work is delivered on time and to budget
- Attend meetings and provide guidance on potential design improvements
- Ensure studio files are updated with clients’ briefs
- Answer queries and act as main contact when required
Experience / skills required:
- Mid-weight design experience
- Experience of designing book covers and layout
- Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Solid knowledge of typography and colour correcting
- Able to work under pressure across a number of projects at one time
- A degree in Graphic Design or equivalent would be advantageous
