An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Partnerships Officer to join Book Aid International’s Operations Team.
At Book Aid International we share the power of books and help create a more equal world. Every year we provide over one million brand-new books to thousands of communities where people have very few opportunities to read, and we work with our partners to support and establish libraries.
This role is based in the Operations Team which is responsible for sourcing new books from the publishing industry, processing the book donations, and shipping them to our international partners. It’s a dynamic and fast-moving environment where the team do vital work to deliver the Charity’s strategic goals.
The successful applicant will work with the Partnerships Manager to manage the Book Provision Programme and the relationships with our overseas partners. You will help to assess the book requirements of our partners and prepare book selections to help the logistics team with packing and shipping. Once the books have been received by our partners, you will help with the evaluation and monitoring of the programme. This could involve some international travel.
If you love building relationships this could be the perfect role for you. You will need the emotional intelligence to understand different cultures and respect the needs of people living in difficult circumstances. You will have empathy for the challenges facing fragile communities and the passion to help make a difference.
We are a small and lively team that manages to punch above its weight. No two days are the same so you’ll need to embrace the unpredictable and exciting nature of working in international aid. You’ll need to enjoy buzzing around our warehouse as well as being super organised and methodical when managing our database and reporting programmes. A passion for reading and an understanding of the power of books would be beneficial.
We recognise that the skills, experience and qualities of our staff are vital in supporting Book Aid International in achieving its charitable objectives. In return, we offer a good benefits package including competitive salaries, flexible working, generous employer pension contributions and life assurance.
We work with a team of staff who share the belief that books can change lives; we work together to make that belief a reality.
“I am inspired daily by the kindness, dedication, and passion my colleagues show. It is fantastic to work at an organisation where people are so willing to help each other.”
