Events Executive

We are looking for a dynamic Events Executive to help drive the continued success of our events business. If you are passionate about all things events then this is the role for you!

The Stage Media Company is dedicated to providing up-to-date news and services for the UK’s theatre, performing arts and book publishing industry. Its two weekly titles, The Stage and The Bookseller, are established leaders within their respective fields, offering industry news, authoritative reviews and insightful features.

The Stage Media Company is seeking an Events Executive to be responsible for the operational production and marketing of events. A growing revenue stream for The Bookseller and The Stage, our events enable us to communicate and learn from our audience. Working with the Head of Events, the Events Executive is responsible for delivering fantastic events that embody the quality and brand values of our publications.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable events experience. They will have strong organisational skills and thrive in pressurised, constantly changing environments but also be willing to adhere to timelines necessary for the success of events. An understanding of the book trade and/or theatre industry and the specific challenges and opportunities faced in these sectors would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Event Production

  • To deliver live and digital events in collaboration with internal teams including sales, editorial and marketing as well as freelancers
  • Work with the Head of Events to create and manage a critical path/timeline and ensure that the deadlines are maintained as closely as possible
  • Co-ordinate logistics including organising speakers, staff, photographers, AV companies
  • To provide on-the-day management and co-ordination for events
  • To measure the impact of events on the intended audience, report on the outcomes, and provide ideas and solutions for improvement
  • Work to, and manage specific budgets and all relevant invoicing and accounts

Event Branding

  • To work with marketing and design to create branding for new events
  • To maintain branding of existing events within existing brand guidelines
  • With marketing support and designer back up, help produce print and online materials for all events including designs for internal and external publications, social media and banner advertising

Marketing

  • Work with a designer/freelance support to create digital assets including banner adverts
  • Creating print assets for publications
  • With marketing support, write, create and deploy email marketing campaigns
  • Work with the internal social media team to grow engagement across all relevant platforms

Skills required

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time and workload
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and build partnerships
  • Have experience of working on live events/awards or a marketing/press background

Home working is supported but the role will primarily be based in the office (at least 3 days a week in the office).
