Senior Editorial Assistant

Bristol University Press (BUP), and its award-winning imprint Policy Press (PP), is looking to appoint a Senior Editorial Assistant (SEA) to work within the dynamic Commissioning Team.

What will you be doing?

The SEA will work with two editors to support our prestigious social policy list and fast-growing politics list. The position would suit someone already working in an editorial role who would like to take the next step in their career – or someone with a postgraduate qualification in either subject who would like to move into academic publishing. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would take on commissioning responsibilities in a short timeframe.

They will support the editors in the commissioning and project management of titles. This involves managing the peer review processes, liaising with authors, ensuring the accurate updating of the publishing system and keeping other tracking documents accurate and up to date.  The role also provides administrative support including assisting with drafting internal project documents, data entry, filing, taking minutes and organising internal and external meetings.

You should apply if

You are an ambitious and driven candidate who can play a key role building an exciting publishing programme and contributing to the success of BUP.
