Business Analyst - Publishing

A well-known, international trade book publisher based in London is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for their Publishing Operations department.  This is an exciting newly created role within the division where the successful person will establish, investigate and analyse the internal processes, ensuring that these processes are efficient and that all levels of the business can use these guidelines.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create a culture of business analysis based on user feedback and testing
  • Work with end users to develop solutions that records and maps core business
  • Gather requirements from around the business as to ways that internal processes can be streamlined
  • Help stakeholders identify, articulate and prioritise project benefits
  • Acting as the contact for the organisation’s suppliers, so that the suppliers understand business requirements before specifying a solution
  • Review supplier specifications and ensure these are understood by business partner
  • Oversee the implementation of new processes within Biblio, their timing and release

 

The successful person will have the following experience/sills:

  • Demonstrable experience of analysis of business processes
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience of writing business specifications for information systems
  • An ability to translate technical language into everyday language for the end user
  • Experience or knowledge of publishing systems desired
  • Strong IT skills and experience of using Waterfall; (PRINCE2) or agile within a structured project process

 

This is a new role which has the scope to grow and become a much broader role.
