Business Coordinator - Academic Books

We have an exciting new opportunity to work for a leading, global publisher in their newly created role of Business Coordinator.  This is an ideal position for someone who is interested in learning about the ‘nuts and bolts’ and business side of publishing, and how new products are acquired and merged into a growing publishing portfolio, and a great opportunity for the right person to develop their skills and interests across a wide range of commercial functions, including Finance, Sales & Marketing, Legal and Editorial, in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding current acquisitions and distribution deals
  • Producing reports to help inform business decisions
  • Coordinating and hosting internal workshops and webinars on a global scale
  • Researching potential new acquisition opportunities
  • Supporting with the development and roll out of a global strategic acquisitions guide
  • Day to day responsibility for maintaining a new project management platform
  • Supporting the team with other key projects as required

This is a brand-new role with the opportunity to develop this position and put your own stamp on it.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some project coordinator, project management experience, or experience from a wider background, such as events, finance, logistics, operations; sales and marketing
  • The ability to work problems through and resolve in a logical manner, to contribute to business decisions
  • The ability to translate and communicate business orientated information and documentation to a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues clearly
  • Experience of working independently and collaboratively with colleagues across other departments within the business
  • Proficiency in all MS Office programmes, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
