Business Development Executive

Would you like to work for a major academic publishing organisation, and be part of their successful Open Access team, where you will work closely with institutions and research organisations around the world?  An interesting and varied business development role has become available on a 12-month maternity cover, to promote and grow the organisation’s OA revenue. 

The key purpose of this role will be to increase the number of Open Access publishing partnerships with academic institutions and maximise revenue growth from existing agreements. Most of this activity will include working on the company’s journal portfolio, but may also have the opportunity to work across the entire company offering, e.g., growing the Open Access Books programme.  Based in the UK, the role covers a broad territory, supporting activity across Europe, Asia Pacific, Australasia and Latin America. The role can be worked on a remote basis or hybrid.

We are looking for someone with a strong business development background, commercially-minded with an interest in Open Access and Open Research. Knowledge of academic publishing and the scholarly communication system would be a distinct advantage.  You will have a proven track record of building successful relationships, both internally and externally, be results-focused and self-motivated.
