Business Development Manager

A highly prestigious education and training organisation focused on the Further Education sector have a fantastic opportunity for a driven, and self-motivated Business Development Manager to join their team. This role offers an excellent salary and remote/hybrid working (ideally an average of 2 days per week will be spent in their London office - exact split TBC depending on candidate requirements - let us know what works for you).

Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Business Development, the main remit of the Business Development Manager is to support business growth through bidding activities, whilst exploring opportunities for developing new revenue streams. Responsibilities will include (amongst others):

  • To identify, develop and respond to opportunities as well as emerging needs
  • Write proposals for funding and responses to questionnaires, taking ownership of bids from design to submission
  • To engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • To be responsible for the development, building on and reporting of a healthy business pipeline
  • Work with colleagues to identify joint initiatives
  • Provide feedback of business development opportunities and activities
  • Work with teams and across the rest of the organisation to identify other opportunities for income growth
  • To work cross-functionally to review and develop business development marketing material and communications

The ideal Business Development Manager will be a commercially focused and decisive sales professional with a proven track record of achieving business growth. You will ideally have experience of working within funding or grants, and have managed bidding activity for Business Development purposes. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are key, along with excellent analytical and strategic commercial skills. A passion for and curiosity about the latest educational research will be important as well as possessing insight in to the education and training sector and the trends and developments across the education landscape.
