Business Development Manager

Our client is a leading, global Higher Education publisher based in London and they are looking to hire a Business Development Manager for an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract (with a view to becoming permanent). We welcome applications from those looking for part-time (3 days minimum) or full-time working patterns.


  • Salary: ┬úcompetitive + bonus
  • Location: hybrid / London
  • 2-3 days in the office required

About you

The preferred candidate will come with a commercial sales / business development background in Higher Education, EdTech or a related industry. You will ideally understand tender processes and how to sell to Universities. Our client has had great success with their Student Response System product in the US and they are looking to roll it out to the UK market and beyond! You will demonstrate:

  • A passion for education and an interest in the use of technology in education
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Experience of writing compelling tenders
  • Comfort working in a start-up but with the security and backing of a larger global company
  • Confidence in dealing with senior level people within universities

The role

The Business Development Manager will investigate, identify and develop a strong pipeline of institutional new business opportunities for the company's Student Response System product, and close sufficient new business subscriptions in order to meet defined revenue targets.
