Do you have experience in academic publishing, or B2B sales experience, in addition to conversational German and/or French language skills? A leading scholarly publisher of journals and books is looking to appoint an experienced Business Manager (Account Manager) to their highly successful team. You will be responsible for a wide portfolio of existing accounts within higher and further education (University and College Libraries) and Corporate and Public Sector customers, selling a range of electronic and printed learning resources.
Responsible for the retention and upselling of products to existing customers and the development of new accounts, you will also develop non-commercial opportunities and new product developments.
The role is flexible in terms of location within the UK, but covering Germany and France, and the position requires regular travel. This position is remote based in the UK.
- Achieving and improving agreed sales targets
- Acting as a principal negotiator and delivering presentations
- Targeting and negotiate sales with purchasing consortia groups
- Demonstrate and sell databases to both new and existing customers
German and/or French language skills are essential and candidates must have a demonstrable track record of sales success. You will need to hold a current driving license and the flexibility to travel to France/Germany.
