Business Development Representative
Salary: £33,300 – £40,000
Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office)
Contract: Permanent/Full time (35 hours per week)

We are looking for a talented individual to oversee Book Special Sales activities and assist with the third-party eVendor and corporate library sales activities. You will do this by working with our network of global partners, not-for-profit and corporate customers.

About the role
The Business Development Team sits within the Academic Sales Team at Cambridge University Press and is responsible for all third-party content licensing and distribution, bulk/customised Book Special Sales, rights and permissions and Journals special sales at Cambridge University Press.
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for overseeing STM/HSS global bulk and customised Book Special Sales activities, assisting with the third-party eVendor and corporate library sales activities, and supporting the wider team in meeting financial targets across all Business Development financial lines.
In this role, you will:
- identify new business opportunities for Book Special Sales.
- collaborate closely with colleagues in Editorial and other teams to gain insight into the STM/HSS publishing pipeline and potential opportunities for special sales.
- actively cooperate with team members and various departments globally to ensure the seamless execution of Book Special Sales projects, from conception to delivery, with a continuous focus on enhancing the customer experience.
About you
As our next Business Development Representative, you will have strong inter-personal communication skills and a background in either sales or business development, ideally in Publishing. You take a customer focused approach with strong organisational and prospecting skills.
