Sales Executive / Senior Sales Executive
Salary: £33,300 - £43,400
Location: Cambridge / Hybrid
Contract: Permanent full time, 35 hours per week

About the role
Your main customers will be librarians and library suppliers within the Higher Education sector, with whom you'll build strong relationships to fully understand their institutions' needs and how our digital offerings can meet them. The position involves travel within your territory to visit customers and attend conferences, so proficiency in German is highly desirable.
- You'll work closely with the Library Sales Manager for this region and be an integral part of the established European Library Sales team. This team will support your growth in areas such as negotiation, sales, interpersonal skills, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. With the academic digital publishing industry constantly evolving, this role offers plenty of variety and opportunities to learn something new. Use excellent communication skills to develop and maintain good customer relationships and work towards acquiring new customers.
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities which include retaining regular business and building new business in the territory.
- Achieves and exceeds sales targets in Germany & Austria
- As part of the EMEA team you will attend regular internal meetings, feed into marketing campaigns, and share market intelligence gained from customer meetings.
- Travels to the territory and represents Cambridge at customer meetings (in person and/or via video call as required), conferences and industry events, ensuring this is kept within expenditure budgets.
- Acquires a good working knowledge of highly complex Academic products and services for institutions.
- Negotiates and finalises agreements with customers.
About you
It is highly desirable for the successful candidate to have at least 2 years sales experience and a good understanding of the higher education system and marketplace. We are also looking for the following skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and German
- Organisation, multi-tasking, and planning skills
- Commercial mindedness
- Relationship management and building
- A creative approach to selling, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Collaborating as part of a team but also ability to work with autonomy to create and execute a territory and market plan
- Proficient in office software
