Job Title: Higher Education Sales Executive

Salary: £33,300 - £46,700

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid

Sales Territory: London & South East England

Contract: Maternity cover until end October 2025, Full time (35 hours per week)

We are looking for a Sales Executive to join our Academic Higher Education Sales team, with responsibility for selling our growing list of print and digital products into universities in London and Southeast England.

About the role 

As our next Sales Executive, you will be responsible for delivering sales in-line with our ambitious growth plans whilst achieving personal sales targets using a proactive and consultative approach to sales. You will be required to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy maximising your time between conducting market research to seek out new adoption opportunities and making sales calls.

The role involves regular face to face meetings with university lecturers when calling on campus as well as efficiently dealing with high volumes of email correspondence. You will be expected to record sales activity within the Salesforce CRM platform as well as provide regular sales reports, product feedback and market developments to help shape the ongoing strategy for the business.

You will be working closely with the Head of HE Sales, other HE and UK Trade sales colleagues, as well as our marketing and editorial teams.

About you 

Ideally you will have knowledge of the sales territory, some experience of working in HE publishing sales, and a proven track record for meeting and exceeding sales targets.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational skills are essential
  • Ability to work well with systems, including the Salesforce CRM platform
  • An inquisitive and consistent, can-do approach
  • Problem solving, and a willingness to share ideas where you think improvements can be made to our sales activities
