Editorial Manager/Senior Commissioning Editor, Illustrated Non-fiction

CICO Books is an international co-edition publisher of illustrated craft, mind, body, spirit, gift and lifestyle titles. We are looking for an experienced, energetic and creative manager to direct the editorial management of our publishing programme.

The Role

  • Managing a small editorial team to ensure all books are running to budget and schedule.
  • Commissioning new titles across all our subject areas, as well as identifying potential use of backlist titles.
  • Liaising closely with the design, production and sales departments.
  • Project-managing a range of illustrated books from inception to finished copy, including devising structure and content, working closely with authors, and some copy-editing.

Experience and Skills

  • Proactive with commercial awareness in seeking out new authors and ideas.
  • Confident in negotiation and contracting authors.
  • Meticulous copy-editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to organise, prioritise and manage workflow, working well under pressure and as part of a small team.

This role is offered as a full-time role starting ASAP, based primarily in our London office.
