Co-edition Fulfilment Assistant, Fixed term 12 months
Pan Macmillan is one of the largest general book publishers in the UK and is part of the Macmillan Publishing Group, which operates in over 70 countries worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our busy Publishing Operations department, working closely with our Rights and Production teams to produce over 40 different language printings of our Children’s titles.
Your role will involve sending out of files, pre-flight checking of incoming files, monitoring the progress of each title and ensuring it is within deadline through to final advance approval. You will also assist in file conversions to InDesign and making PDFs.
Excellent communication skills are required as you will need to liaise with a variety of external and internal contacts, as are excellent organization and time-management skills, a good eye for detail and an ability to work well under pressure. Applicants must demonstrate solid IT skills in a Mac environment with a good knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop and a good understanding of pre-press processes. Previous experience in a book publishing environment is preferred.
The position is for a fixed term contract of 12 months and is based at our offices in King’s Cross, London.
