Commissioning Editor (12 month contract)

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Editor to join a very successful children’s & adult book publisher on a 12 month maternity cover contract to work on their growing licensing & brand books division.

Reporting to the Publisher, the Commissioning Editor will play an active part in creating new book ideas, commission and acquire new non-fiction, gift and branded titles and develop great relationships with authors, agents and contributors.

We are looking for someone with an eye for trends, with good hands-on editorial skills and experience as well as ability to write creatively, copyedit and proofread, and is able to work with your colleagues within the team in an informal style.

We would welcome applications from Commissioning Editors or very capable Editorial candidates with commissioning experience who are ready for their next career step up to a Commissioning Editor role. 

You’ll be based in London and the salary range depends on the experience you bring but is very competitive and the Company offers a range of great employee benefits.
