Commissioning Editor

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Editor or a Senior Commissioning Editor to join a leading independent publisher who will focus on developing professional and academic titles as part of the Marketing list.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of commissioning academic textbooks or professional books with strong commercial acumen. You will be collaborative and a team player whilst being able to work independently. We are looking for someone good business acumen and someone that will thrive in building their own successful publishing list.

We imagine the candidate to be ambitious and looking for a role with more autonomy and ownership. The successful candidate will most likely have entrepreneurial tendencies and confidence in decision making as well as having a vision for developing, commissioning and publishing a commercially successful list.

This role is market focused and there will be an expectation that you visit university campuses and conferences so we will be looking for evidence of researching the market, excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
