Commissioning Editor

We are excited to be partnering with a leading education technology organisation focused on the delivery of widely recognised learning certifications, exams and qualifications for professionals around the world. They are looking for a Commissioning Editor to join their talented team! This role offers hybrid working with ideally 1-2 days spent per week in the company's central London office (if that's problematic, let us know what works for you). It offers an excellent salary package!

The main remit of the Commissioning Editor will be to develop and deliver training content courseware to agreed product specifications and instructional design principles to support a varied portfolio of professional certifications. You will project manage the day-to-day aspects of the fast-paced, high-volume delivery of engaging, attractive, and professional courseware for training content. Responsibilities will include (amongst others):

  • Create high-quality written digital content & develop new and innovative content
  • Support the development of the courseware product specification on a certification-by-certification basis in conjunction with subject-matter experts and the product management team
  • Review material created to ensure that learning outcomes are met & provide support, where needed, including, but not limited to: editing, proofreading, and uploading digital content
  • Check and approve the final courseware package, ensuring the highest editorial standards

The ideal Commissioning Editor for training content will have experience in writing and editing for an online audience, digital content, or a news publication, and a proven track record in creating engaging, attractive professional content, as well as ideally a strong grounding in learning design. Stakeholder management and excellent editorial skills are a must, along with good project management skills and a detail-oriented and analytical approach. The ideal Commissioning Editor will also have top-notch communication skills and the ability to work in a high-volume and fast pasted publishing environment.
