Commissioning Editor

A prestigious Law publisher based in London is looking to hire a Commissioning Editor to develop their books lists for the practitioners' market. The role can be hybrid with ideally 1-2 days a week in the London office.

We are looking for someone with Professional or Academic publishing experience, ideally in Legal publishing, and with a good understanding of the book publishing cycle. In particular, we are looking for someone who is commercially minded, able to work autonomously and deliver to agreed targets. You will be focussed on the commercial performance of the books you are commissioning to ensure that they are producing the desired revenue levels and are a commercial success.

• Commissioning (ideally within law or professional content)
• Strong author management skills
• Commercially minded
• Strong organisational skills
• Effective communication and influencing skills

A stand out candidate for this role would be someone who has all of the above, who is a self-starter with a sound knowledge of current and general issues within the legal profession.
