Commissioning Editor

A leading professional association based in Swindon is looking for a Commissioning Editor to work on print and digital IT content. This would be a great role for a candidate with previous Sub-editing and commissioning experience looking to manage commissioned projects and further develop their skills within professional publishing.

 

Key duties:

•           Manage commissioning projects

•           Work as the publishers lead Sub-editor and own the membership magazine flat-plan.

•           Ensure print publications run smoothly, to budget, and to deadline.

•           Proof print and digital content and ensure that texts are checked against the set style guide.

•           Keep up to date with industry changes, trends and topics.

 

Experience / skills required:

•           Previous Sub-editing and commissioning experience within B2B or                   professional publishing.

•           Proven experience managing external writers and contributors.

•           Ability to manage own schedule and work to set deadlines.

•           Knowledge or interest in the IT industry is highly desirable.

•           Excellent IT competency with previous experience using InDesign.
