Commissioning Editor/Games Developer (Board & Games)

Are you passionate about board games, card games, and wargames? Fanatical about storytelling in different formats? A leading specialist board and card game publisher is looking for a Commissioning Editor to act as Games Developer, commissioning, developing and shaping strategy for their board and card games. This is an exciting and pivotal role with the opportunity for additional responsibility and progression. This role is based in their Oxford head office.

Key duties:

  • Commission new board and card game products
  • Present new project proposals to internal teams and be a passionate ambassador for the product list at external events
  • Oversee the Project management the development of new board and card games, working with editors and colleagues to ensure timely production
  • Identify and manage potential authors, freelancers, and designers
  • Act as primary point of contact for the board and card gaming communities online

Experience / skills required:

  • A thorough understanding of the board gaming industry is essential
  • Excellent editorial skills and a high level of written and spoken English
  • You must be passionate about working with genre and niche interest communities
  • We are looking for an adaptable, creative thinker
  • You will have an eye-for-detail with good communication, presentation and negotiation skills
