Commissioning Editor (Higher Education)
Do you have experience of commissioning products at an Educational or Professional Publisher? We have a fantastic opportunity for a results-focused and innovative Commissioning Editor to join a Higher Education publisher where you will be managing the product strategy for their textbooks and digital products. This is a based full time role for up to 1 year based in their London office.
Key duties:
- Develop, deliver and commission the product strategy for Higher Education portfolios (textbooks and digital products) across EMEA, focusing on Accounting, Finance and Economics
- Manage the regional product portfolio including revenue and profitability
- Promote the portfolio to internal and external customers
- Work with the Sales and Marketing teams and recruit authors and/or SMEs
- Identify, develop and present business cases for new products and services
- Use tools and data to determine allocation of investment based on customer insight
Experience / skills required:
- Experience in science, publishing and educational technology or in digital product management/development
- Commissioning experience essential
- Commercial background and experience developing business plans
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)/postgraduate qualifications and Higher Education experience desirable
