Commissioning Editor (International Schools)

We are looking for a Commissioning Editor to join the International Schools team at a major educational publisher. You will be responsible for commissioning product for an ambitious publishing plan, with an emphasis on digital content. This role is based in Oxford and would be perfectly suited to a talented development editor looking to step up to a commissioning role.

Key duties:

• Research, commission, and oversee an extensive range of publishing projects up to editorial handover
• Manage the financial performance of the list and contribute to ongoing team publishing strategy
• Take responsibility for a portfolio of projects in the publishing plan
• Make project proposals, manage authors, and conduct financial assessments as required
• Work with key stakeholders and customers in our global regions
• Attend appropriate conferences and stakeholder events in global regions, travelling as required

Experience / skills required:

• Demonstrable experience of digital and print publishing business is essential
• You will have proven experience of managing author relationships
• Experience of acquiring/commissioning materials in print and digital format for publication is required
• You will have a background in education or educational publishing
• Experience of working in international schools markets is highly desired
