Commissioning Editor / List Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading educational publishing company! Our client is looking to recruit a Commissioning Editor for their Higher Education editorial team, based in their Hampshire office. The Commissioning Editor will be part of a friendly and supportive editorial team managing a prestigious portfolio of print and digital higher education products across Accounting and Finance, within the EMEA territory (Europe, Middle East & Africa). Responsibilities include:
·Project managing the successful publication of frontlist products.
·Managing the portfolio of frontlist and backlist products within the Accounting & Finance HE List.
·Maintaining close contact with authors and contributors, recruiting additional ones where required.
·Working with the Publisher to present product business cases for investment funding.
·Undertaking market research, and briefing authors and content writers accordingly.
The Commissioning Editor will be a team player with strong commercial acumen, and ideally have proven experience of editorial and project management skills, including effective author and contributor management, as well as some experience of list and portfolio management. You will be highly organised, an excellent communicator with an eye for detail and have a keen interest in the shaping of content and pedagogy for the higher education sector, with a grasp of the principles of eLearning and pedagogical approaches.
