Commissioning Editor, part-time

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen with a globally renowned publishing company who are seeking a part-time Commissioning Editor (3 days per week) to work across their business list. The role offers a competitive salary, and benefits, alongside hybrid working with a requirement for working 1 day per week (Tuesdays) in their Central London office.

As Commissioning Editor for the business market, you will acquire books aimed at professional, MBA and Executive Education audiences as well as senior practitioners in the business sector. You will actively commission, develop and build external relationships within this field, as well as working with internal stakeholders in relation to this specific list.

The successful candidate Commissioning Editor will have strong and relevant editorial experience in the business publishing market, and trade or professional book publishing market with a track record in commissioning content, author management and contract negotiation. Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential as well as good digital skills around using Biblio, working with eBooks and some knowledge of XML workflow systems.
