Commissioning Editor/Publisher

Our client is a leading educational publisher and is now looking for a new Commissioning Editor/Publisher to join their editorial department on a permanent basis. Working in a rewarding environment and closely with the Director, you will set the product strategy for the accounting and finance list and develop a next generation of digital educational products. This role can be based in London or Essex.

 

Key duties:

  • Conduct in depth market research, identify customer needs and new areas for product development
  • Build compelling product propositions and communicate new market strategy
  • Identify key market networks including authors and customers to create valuable and effective products
  • Drive propositions through the publishing cycle prioritising and redefining plans accordingly

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven experience in an editorial/commissioning role in educational publishing, ideally in higher education or a similar list
  • Strong market awareness, commercially driven with good business acumen and decision making skills
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to work on multiple projects under deadlines
  • Good communication and presentation skills, able to work well as a part of a team and communicate well with stakeholders
