Commissioning Editor / Senior Commissioning Editor

A global educational publishing organisation has an exciting new opportunity for a Commissioning Editor / Senior Commissioning Editor (depending on experience) to join their Education publishing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role offers remote / hybrid working, an excellent salary and benefits package as well as long term career development prospects.

As Commissioning Editor you will work across Science, Technology & Mathematics portfolios, commissioning strategies in line with the overarching customer proposition, contributing to the development of market leading international and UK education print and digital programmes. This will involve customer research to understand the needs of international teachers and students, to inform the development of a pipeline of profitable, competitive and customer-driven print and digital products that align to international curricula and reflect the company's core publishing principles. The role will also involve acting as an advocate for key projects and lists, working collaboratively with in-house teams, and externally with teachers, authors and awarding organisations.

This role of Commissioning Editor will suit someone with prior commissioning experience combined with insight into and an interest in the UK and/or international education landscape, the latest trends and market developments. Experience of commissioning/developing content tailored to specific curricula will be really valuable as well as a thorough understanding of the editorial processes for print and digital products and a proven ability to commission/develop learning resources that are fit for purpose and commercially successful. The Commissioning Editor will ideally have the ability to articulate the learner journey and the needs of teachers and learners in the international education sector.
