Commissioning editors

Our client is a leading Cambridge based publisher and is now looking for two Commissioning Editors to join their editorial team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the management and commissioning of high quality teaching and learning resources. These roles are offered on a 2-year contract basis with a possibility to extend.  

 

Key duties:

  • Responsible for the creation and development of a number of educational titles
  • Research, identify and commission appropriate and highly skilled authors and contributors
  • Ensure content is produced to high quality standards and according to schedule and budget
  • Ensure cross-curricular themes are embedded and the development of a cohesive list across levels

Experience / skills required:

  • Established experience in an commissioning role within educational publishing
  • Good track record of delivery of commissioned learning resources
  • A good understanding of print and digital editorial processes
  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of the current educational publishing trends
  • Excellent communication skills, author management and care
