Contracts Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity ! Our client is looking for a Contracts Manager to support the Group Contracts Director in managing their Contracts Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and in-depth knowledge of the publishing industry.

Key Responsibilities include,

  • Draft and negotiate publishing contracts.
  • Advise on contract and legal issues.
  • Ensure contract compliance with Group goals and regulations.
  • Support the Head of Contracts and liaise with the Legal Department.
  • Train and manage the Contracts team.
  • Advise the Rights department and draft clauses.
  • Develop systems for contract documents.
  • Generate and manage Biblio reports.
  • Oversee contract archives and audits.
  • Attend meetings and maintain contract records.

The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of both local and international contract laws, as well as Group policies and structure. They also need to possess in-depth knowledge of the publishing industry.

Proficiency in meeting deadlines and communicating delays is crucial. Additionally, strong research skills, a solid understanding of legal agreements, and knowledge of copyright law are necessary.

Exceptional negotiation and persuasion abilities, along with leadership and management skills, are essential. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and analytical abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Sign, and Biblio is required. Moreover, the candidate should be able to work calmly under pressure and effectively challenge internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Group policies.
