We are a busy literary agency looking for a highly organised Contracts Manager to cover maternity leave, beginning early to mid-November 2018. Responsibilities include negotiation, general management (and occasional drafting) of author/publisher contracts, addenda and related paperwork; maintaining contracts log and other general admin specifically associated with the role. Clear and effective communication with both publishers and US-based clients is very important. Almost all contracts are with British (or Commonwealth) publishers, for English language rights (book and/or audio).
This is a role for a very capable, highly organised individual who can work reasonably independently and is highly motivated by attention to detail. Applicants must have a detailed understanding (and experience) of publishing contracts.
