Sales and Marketing Executive

Overall purpose of the job:
This is a newly created role working across Publicity, Marketing and Sales at an award-winning independent publishers based in the heart of Oxford. As part of a small (but mighty) team it’s a fantastic opportunity for a creative, innovative, and driven professional (who loves books!) to make a real difference and help take DFB to the next level!

Key Marketing/PR Responsibilities: 

 

  • Liaise with both regional and national press on PR campaigns ensuring press enquiries and opportunities are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Working closely with the Publicity and Marketing Director to develop excellent competitions and promotions for front list titles which engage both customers and consumers alike.
  • Design and produce exceptional print promotional material, including POS and print advertising.
  • Support and develop an innovative social media and web strategy, working with third party agencies on eye catching content marketing campaigns.
  • Putting forward DFB titles for regional and national book awards and submitting titles for relevant industry promotions.
  • Liaise directly with our DFB authors, illustrators and creators across their Marketing and PR campaigns and queries.
  • Support at setting up and attending external events including book launches, conferences, and festivals.

 

Key Sales Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with our Sales Director on core sales requirements, including:  
  • Preparing bibliographic submission grids, processing and managing orders, and general liaison with key accounts.
  • Running costing sheets for proposed deals and promotions.
  • Liaising with distributor(s) over order issues, and working closely with the rest of the DFB team to ensure excellent communication of stock and sales matters both internally and externally.
  • Liaising with Faber Independent Alliance sales reps about opportunities and trends.
