Book Agents’ Assistant

This new role assisting literary agents Caroline Walsh and Veronique Baxter offers an ideal first or second job opportunity for someone passionate about children’s book publishing.  The ideal candidate will be organised and meticulous, have excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside creative flair.  Due to current Covid restrictions, the role will initially take the form of remote working and will then transition to our Soho offices.  Responsibilities will include day to day administrative assistance to the agents, the creation and maintenance of website and database entries, processing contracts, tracking publication and payment details, and reading and reporting on new texts. This busy full-time role provides an exciting opportunity for someone with energy and initiative.

David Higham Associates represents an outstanding range of writers across all genres, in all media and languages and has a particular specialism in children’s authors and illustrators.  We represent titles across the entire children’s book spectrum, from board book, novelty and picture books, through young fiction and Middle Grade to teen and YA novels.  Our clients include Cressida Cowell, Michael Morpurgo, Liz Pichon, Jacqueline Wilson and Jonathan Stroud.
