Literary Agents' Assistant

Established in 1935, David Higham Associates is a leading literary agency representing writers throughout the UK, US and internationally.

We are looking for a dynamic assistant for two agents in the Book Department, Nicola Chang and Harriet Moore. Their clients include: Raymond Antrobus, Symeon Brown, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Naoise Dolan, Nikita Gill, Emma Glass, Marlowe Granados, Sophie Mackintosh, Kei Miller, Megan Nolan, Leone Ross and Saba Sams. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous time management and be able to manage their workload efficiently, alongside creative flair. The successful applicant will be an avid and deeply curious reader who is interested in developing a career in publishing.

The role will include providing day to day assistance to both agents, reading and reporting on manuscripts, liaising closely with authors and publishers, keeping the website and database updated and tracking the contractual process and publication schedules.

Please note this is a full-time role and will be based at our offices in London. You would be expected to work a minimum of four days a week in the office, with some working from home flexibility. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the interview process.
