Designer

A leading academic publisher in central London is looking for a creative Designer to work on the jackets of their Scholarly titles. This is an 18 month fixed term contract position with possibility of extension.

 

Key duties:

  • Design jackets for Scholarly titles to branding guidelines
  • Ensure all jacket work is up to date, press ready and supplied to printer specifications
  • Maintain high level of service and build excellent relationships
  • Schedule of own work and oversee Design Assistant
  • Ensure image rights and licensing issues are checked

Experience / skills required:

  • Some experience in a Design role in publishing
  • Demonstrable experience of sending files to press and meeting specifications
  • Sound knowledge of pre-press
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines is essential
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Graphic Design degree or equivalent
