Desk Editor

Our client is a leading educational publisher based in Central London and is now looking for a Desk Editor to join their editorial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Editorial Assistant looking to step up and wok on a range of educational print and digital products.

Key duties:

  • Edit and project manage print and digital content for secondary schools for English, Maths and Science
  • Work closely and effectively with colleagues, authors and freelances
  • Check proofs and eBook files to monitor high editorial quality of the products 
  • Manage the publishing process and ensure it stays on time and to agreed budget
  • Prepare illustration briefs, check artworks, make photo selections and size images

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid editorial experience is required, ideally within educational publishing or a similar list 
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to plan ahead
  • Able to work as part of a team and manage own work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
