Development Editor

Are you looking to develop your editorial career into the commissioning route? This is a terrific opportunity with a leading publisher of educational content, based in the South of England, to take on the role of Development Editor for a 9-12month fixed term contract.

In this role you will be exposed to product development for published material across the EMEA region, giving you insight into a broad, international market.

You will be working across a rang of Business and Management disciplines, in terms of the subject matter itself, and will be responsible for:
·project management with authors to produce manuscripts and products to schedule / budget
·working from initial commissioning stages to publication
·researching new editions, products and subject areas with the List Manager and support them with the planning of this

We are looking for someone with excellent editorial and project management experience and first-class communication skills as you will be liaising with both authors and internal staff on a regular basis. You will be highly organised and experience in higher education textbooks publishing and in online publishing would be an advantage.
