Development Editor (Primary ELT)

Due to an exciting period of expansion, a market leading educational publisher is looking for a Development Editor to join their ELT team to work on primary school products for EMEA. This is a full time role based in their North Hampshire offices.

Key duties:

  • Ensure key ELT EMEA print and digital projects are produced on time, to budget, and to specification
  • Manage the development of programmes for print and electronic delivery
  • Commission and Manage external freelance authors, editors, designers, and developers
  • Project manage a range of products including Student Books, other print components, and tech products (audio/video) through production
  • Edit manuscripts for content and/or copy edit manuscripts
  • Research, analyse and gather market feedback to inform publishing strategy

Experience / skills required:

  • You must have solid demonstrable experience within a publishing role
  • Proven expertise in publishing ELT or ESL content is required
  • A proven record of leading the development of editorial and digital projects
  • You will be proficient with standard Microsoft Office software with a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat professional and InDesign
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Previous experience working as a Development Editor in international markets and/or Primary ELT teaching experience is highly desired
