Development Editor

Our client is a prestigious professional publishing organisation that is well known for having the highest editorial standards. They are now looking for a talented Development Editor to join their busy team on a full-time basis for a 12 month fixed term contract. They work closely with government, businesses and consumers to produce a wide range of publications for a variety of sectors in print and digital formats. A well established global organisation, they offer an excellent salary and benefits package, and hybrid working (ideally 2 days per week in their Chiswick, London office).

As Development Editor, you will help ensure that published documents present the content in the most effective way, meeting the needs of users and other external stakeholders. You will work in partnership with the Editorial and Content teams to help ensure the quality of the standardisation documents produced, whilst take responsibility for the editorial governance of the document.

The ideal Development Editor will have a proven ability to assess and analyse the purpose of a publication, more specifically, they will have hands-on experience of developing and editing content. Strong editorial and rewriting skills, and an ability to critically analyse technical content are key. It is also important to demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate, persuade and influence, in order to manage author and stakeholder relationships.
