Development Editor – ELT (maternity cover)

Due to an exciting period of expansion, a market leading educational publisher is looking for a Development Editor to join their ELT team and work on products for EMEA. This role is based in their North Hampshire offices and is a maternity cover (9-12 months).

Key duties:

• Ensure key ELT EMEA projects are produced on time, to budget, and to specification
• Manage the development of programmes for print and electronic delivery
• Manage external freelance authors, editors, designers, and developers
• Project manage a range of products including Student Books, other print components, and tech products through production
• Edit manuscripts for content and/or copy edit manuscripts
• Liaise with authors and maintain a positive and constructive author-editor relationship

Experience / skills required:

• You must have solid demonstrable experience within a publishing role
• Proven expertise in publishing ELT or ESL content is required
• You will be proficient with standard Microsoft Office software with a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat professional and InDesign
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
• Previous experience working as a Development Editor in international markets and/or ELT teaching experience is highly desired
