Development Editor (Maternity Cover)

A market leading educational publisher is looking for a Development Editor to join their editorial team to develop and project manage print and digital Higher Educations products for EMEA. This role is based in their North Hampshire offices and is a maternity cover (9-12 months).

Key duties:

•           Manage the development of projects of print and electronic products delivery to time, specification and budget

•           Conduct research and create project outlines for a broad range of products

•           Manage external freelance authors, editors, designers, and developers

•           Project manage a range of products including Books, other print components, and tech products through production

•           Edit manuscripts for content and/or copy edit manuscripts

•           Liaise with authors and maintain a positive and constructive author-editor relationship

Experience / skills required:

•           You must have solid demonstrable editorial experience within a publishing role

•           Strong project management skills and a proven record of leading the development of editorial and digital projects

•           Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills

•           Previous experience working as a Development Editor or editorial experience in Educational publishing desirable

•       Strong ICT skills
