Digital Production Editor

We have a fantastic role of Digital Production Editor to join our client, a highly prestigious Academic and Professional publisher with offices in both London and Oxford. This is a fantastic role for a candidate with an interest in digital production keen to work for a world leading publishing house. This role will operate hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the office in either London or Oxford.

The Digital Production Editor role will work very closely with the Production Manager responsible for coordinating the production and editorial workflow for their online platforms and digital resources - the key focus will be the digitisation of resources onto their online platform. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing digital content through all stages of the production process from receipt through to the creation of XML files - they work with external vendors and are happy to train XML knowledge
• Develop specific briefs for copy-editing and proofreading to be shared with freelancers and the project management teams
• Quality check all source files to ensure a high level of accuracy
• Provide cost estimates and schedules where required for newly commissioned and backlist content

The successful candidate will have some production, editorial or QA experience, this could be within the Academic, Professional, Education or Online Publishing sectors. Superb written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. This role will be joining a friendly and ambitious team and we are also looking for an organised, meticulous approach to work with a keen eye for detail.
