Due to considerable growth, our client a successful online platform which publishes information for business careers and business school news is looking to hire an experienced Digital Publisher or Associate Publisher to help make their online platforms an editorial and commercial success. The company’s editorial is built on a concept of community journalism and is a niche network, connecting business students and business employers globally. This role will define the company’s proposition both editorially and commercially so that their sites provide visitors with a high quality content and user experience, whilst maximising revenue and profit.
The Digital Publisher will work closely with the digital and technology teams to ensure the ongoing innovation and development of their product-building roadmap, featuring additional functionality, partnerships and integration and driving the sophistication of the organisation’s proposition.
Working with the Head of Sales, you will ensure the company is always developing their platforms for maximum appeal to the target audience, growing circulation levels and revenue potential. The Digital Publisher will also oversee development and production of sales collateral, including the creation of compelling case-studies, monitoring analytics and competitors to optimise messaging and commercial opportunities. Further responsibilities will involve creating client presentations and proposals and help set targets and make decisions about ways to improve profitability by increasing revenue or reducing costs. As brand and product manager of the organisation’s sites you will be the ambassador for these sites and represent them at conferences and public events.
We are looking for a rare combination of demonstrable business sense, creativity and marketing communication skills, as you will be dealing with a mix of deadlines, meetings, management and decisions. You will ideally come from a similar B2B or educational online platform. Your knowledge of the tools and techniques of online publishing are critical to this role as is your extensive experience with search and social marketing techniques which drive reach and engagement, and you will possess the skills to apply this experience in the development of the organisation’s brand and client work.
You will have an excellent awareness of trends in online advertising and marketing revenue sources and able to align these with their readership’s attitude and perception of these innovations.
