Digital Publisher/Senior Commissioning Editor

Our client, a leading academic and professional publisher based in central London, is looking for a Digital Publisher/Senior Commissioning Editor to join their Digital Resources Division. This is a great opportunity to manage the development of new digital products for the academic library market. This is a 9 month FTC.

Key duties:

• Responsible for creating and developing new digital products for the HSS academic division
• Act as the digital editorial lead and develop products to agreed plan
• Conduct market research, write and present business plans for product concepts
• Work together with the Publishing Director to research and target content providers for partnership opportunities
• Work closely with internal and external content providers on licensing and digitalization products
• Collaborate with and manage in house editors, brainstorming for new products and ensuring process in to schedule

Experience / skills required:

• Established experience in academic publishing with a background in commissioning
• A proven track record of developing digital large-scale products to schedule and according to budget
• Demonstrable knowledge of the market, commercial awareness and ability to identify new opportunities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to work with stakeholders
