Digital Sales Manager

A leading academic publisher based in central London is looking for a Digital Sales Manager to manage relationships with key vendors. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with solid experience in digital/e-books sales or marketing.

Key duties:

  • Hit sales targets and ensure sales strategy and models are understood by internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with colleagues in sales and marketing to make sure e-books are promoted appropriately to key vendors
  • Ensure metadata quality and discoverability of ebooks via vendors is as good as possible
  • Negotiate licences and contracts with third party sales vendors and discoverability partners
  • Ensure polices and models agreed with vendors are signed off by all internal stakeholders
  • Provide territory budgets and updates on sales figures and e-book strategy

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid proven experience in a digital/e-book sales/marketing environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of academic retail and library publishing
  • A well-organised approach to work and the ability to influence others
  • Sound knowledge of Excel and understanding of Microsoft CRM
  • Show high levels of strategic insights around digital products and models
  • Strong financial and budgetary skills, some knowledge of BIC, BISAC and ONIX would be a bonus
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
